Prayer for Good Weather:

Almighty Father, we raised our hearts to You. In gratitude for the wonders of creation, for Your providence in sustaining us our needs and for Your wisdom that guides the course of the universe. God our Father we pray to You through intercession of Saint Medard for good weather and clear skies as we celebrate the Night4Life on October 1st. We know nothing is impossible to You and we ask this of You with humble and contrite hearts, but confident always of Your solicitude and providence. We ask this through Your son Jesus Christ who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit now and forever. Amen.

Prayers & Reflection

Novena Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Life

Begin on September 23, 2022, Pray every day until October 1, 2022.

By: Saint John Paul II

O Mary, bright dawn of the new world, Mother of the living,  to you do we entrust the cause of LIFE. Look down, O Mother,  upon the vast numbers of babies not allowed to be born, of the poor whose lives are made difficult, of men and women who are victims of brutal violence, of the elderly and the sick killed by indifference or out of misguided mercy. Grant that all who believe in your Son may proclaim the Gospel of Life with honesty and love to the people of our time. Obtain for them the grace to accept that Gospel as a gift ever new, the joy of celebrating it with gratitude throughout their lives and the courage to bear witness to it resolutely, in order to build, together with all people of good will, the civilization of truth and love, to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life. Amen.

Daily Prayer to the Blessed Mother for the intention of the Night4Life

Composed by: Mother Olga of the Sacred Heart

Adapted from a prayer to Our Lady of Undoer of Knots

Virgin Mary, Mother of Life, Mother who never refuses to come to the aid of her children in need, Mother whose hands never cease to serve them because your Immaculate Heart is moved by the Sacred Heart of your Son and His immense, divine Love and Mercy. Dear Mother, cast your compassionate eyes upon us and upon our country and see the snarl of the knots caused by abortion and the culture of death that exists in our midst. You know very well how desperate we are, you know our pain for the millions of babies in the womb who never saw the light of life on this side of Heaven and how the people of our nation and our Church today are bound by these knots. Virgin Mary, Mother to whom God has entrusted the undoing of all the knots in the lives of His children, we entrust into your hands the ribbons of our lives, especially of those most vulnerable and the unborn. No one, not even the evil one, can take these ribbons away from your maternal care. In your hands there is no knot that cannot be undone. O Holy Mother, by your powerful intercession and through the Precious Blood of Jesus and in His Holy Name, we ask God the Father, Creator of every human life, to undo the knots of the culture of death and protect the gift of life from the moment of conception to natural death. Our dear Mother, hear our plea. Please guide and protect our Night4Lifefor you are our refuge, Mother of Hope and Mother of Life.

A Prayer For Life:

From Catholic Household Blessings & Prayers

Father and maker of all, You adorn all creation with splendor and beauty, and fashion human lives in Your Image and likeness. Awaken in every heart reverence for the work of Your hands, and renew among Your people a readiness to nurture and sustain Your precious gift of life. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever. Amen.

A Poem, I Would Have Liked You:

By Andrea Roncato

I would have liked you to be small, so I could hug you.

I would have liked you to be big, so I could lean on you.

I would have liked you to be looking out the window in winter, watching the snow begin to fall.

I would have liked you to be lying under the covers during a storm, silent so you could hear the sound of the rainfall.

I would have liked you to be kind to dogs, so you could pet them, and affectionate with the elderly, so you could love them.

I would have liked you to be handsome, so I could brag about you, with big eyes, like your mother’s.

I would have liked to sing to you, to make you fall asleep, and continue the dream that woke you up.

I would have liked you to be shy, so I could see you blush, and stubborn, so I could argue with you.

I would have liked you to be at my side, so the two of us could walk in silence, trying to understand what the other was thinking inside and couldn’t manage to say.

I would have liked to teach you all the things I don’t know how to do.

I would have liked you to leave someday, so I could have the pleasure of seeing you come back home.

I would have liked you to experience your first love.

I would have liked you near me on the day I must leave this world.

I wish I had wanted you, that time when I didn’t want you…

A Song, A Mother's Communion

By Danielle Rose

Unexpected invitation, this new life that Iʼve received.

Iʼm afraid but I am willing; you have just changed everything.

You are silent, you are hidden, but look deep within and see:

Body, blood, and soul are present, living fully within me.

I am not worthy to receive this life,

But only say the world, I shall be healed.

This is my body, given up for you.

This is my blood, flowing from my heart into you.

He gave you life, O child within my womb.

We receive the gift of new life.

This is my body, given up for you.

Love will lead to liberation; thereʼs no greater love than this:

To lay down my life, to pay the real price for you, little friend.

Laboring in expectation, suffering to serve a feast.

My breast is bread, my milk is wine, for you to freely come receive.

I am not worthy to receive your life,

But only say the word, I shall be healed.

This is a motherʼs communion.

Sheʼs a chalice for her child.

Sheʼs a living tabernacle for the presence of God.

Each soul fashioned in His image,

On the cross for all He died,

So that not one little child might perish,

But all be born into eternal life.

We receive your life.

A Song, Unplanned

By Matthew West

I'm looking at a masterpiece
I'm staring at a work of art
I'm listening to a symphony
In every beat of your tiny heart
You used to be a choice to make
But now I think you've chosen me
'Cause I see ten fingers, ten toes
Two eyes and I know this is meant to be

Oh I don't believe in accidents
Miracles, they don't just happen by chance
As long as my God holds the world in his hands
I know that there's no such thing as unplanned

Broken turns to beautiful
I see you right before my eyes
And every single breath you breathe
Is destiny love has brought to life
I thought it was my story's end
But now the future's all I see
Instead of asking who you might've been
I'm wondering who you're gonna be

'Cause I don't believe in accidents
Miracles, they don't just happen by chance
As long as my God holds the world in his hands
I know that there's no such thing as unplanned

Every life deserves a voice
Every child deserves a chance
You are more than just a choice
There's no such thing as unplanned
Every life deserves a voice
Every child deserves a chance
You are more than just a choice
There's no such thing as unplanned

Every life deserves a voice
Every child deserves a chance
You are more than just a choice
'Cause there's no such thing as unplanned
